THing #3

Having a blog can allow you to reflect on your teaching methods and allow you to see how you have grown as a teacher over time. It is also a great way to get insight from other teachers, and see what they are using in their classroom allowing  you to borrow ideas. It allows teachers to keep in touch with parents and allows them to see what is being done in the classroom. Even now before actually becoming teachers a blog can help future teachers become great professionals by using this tool to their advantage to see  teacher examples of what they are doing in the classroom. As we can see, if we use this resource, we can have a lot of benefits.

  1. This was something I hadn't considered already. My thoughts were focused on using a blog as a classroom newsletter, or in higher levels as a means of discussion with the students. But as pointed out by friends and fellow classmates, it is also a way to express your inner workings in a manner that you normally wouldn't be able to. In that way, I can see it being a very effective tool of reflection and improvement. Excellent point!

  2. Blogs are such a great resource for new teachers. It is a great way to see what someone else has done before completing a new lesson plan.

  3. That is a great idea to use your blog to reflect on yourself as a blogger. I never thought of that. I also agree that a blog can be a great place to put a calendar of events and big projects so that students and parents know what is coming up. I am a k-6 education major so this is a great way for parents to be invovled.
